The Wine!

The event where wine bottles are big, bigger and biggest in South Africa! There was some local favorites of the day and then some of your not so usual wines. Firstly I would like to send a special Thank you to Glenelly Wines for the opportunity to attend the Big Bottle Festival 2013. {Tip: Visit Glenelly Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, on the southern slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain.} If the rich history of May de Lencquesaing or Lady May as she is known; does not grab you. Ask about their modern gravity flow winery building. 😉

Besides the occasional Tux or formal attire. There were more Magnum-than-P.I. A peak of some of my personal favourites of the day.

The Dine!

The exceptional standard of food is another aspect which makes the Big Bottle Festivalstand out above the rest.  The Chefs of some of Cape Towns’ top restaurants, contribute their culinary skills to the day. The award winning chefs were; Peter Templehoff, Rudi Liebenberg, Harold Bresselschmidt, Brad Ball, Roland Gorgosilich, Edgar Osojnik and Gregory Czarnecki. Feast your eyes on this!

The Fine!

The Cellars-Hohenort is a 5 Star Hotel situated in the beautiful green Constantia Valley. The hotel offers 49 individually decorated rooms and suites. The exceptional cuisine is over-seen by Grand Chef Relais and Chateaux Peter Tempelhoff. A relaxing massage at the Fresh Wellness Spa or a putting lesson on the Gary Player designed golf putting and chipping green, and the list continues. The Cellars-Henort Hotel created the perfect ambiance of sophistication and class for this event.
